Research goals

My research explores how transgender, non-binary and other gender creative youth understand and experience privacy, and make gender and sexual orientation disclosure decisions. This includes how they interact with adults, and how they differentiate privacy and surveillance. I also theorize how privacy as a concept can be unmoored from its liberal, individualistic roots.
